Michelle O in Narciso’s Red Dress, Criticisms and Compliments

Michelle Obama wears a dress from the Spring 2009 collection of the famous fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez. According to NY Magazine, “this dress is considered as one of the most critically acclaimed of New York Fashion Week”.

But there have been hot debates concerning this dress by worn by the first lady. Verena von Pfetten, a senior editor of Air America Media and an author from The Huffington Post posed a question in her article: “Why is this issue causing such anguish among the bloggers if the dress is really popular?”

The dress really a stunner and it looks good on Michelle O. She dresses appropriately and always projects herself with style and confidence. It’s not new to us. This is neither her best dress nor her best moment, but she will never fail to capture the interest of the public on every cloth that she chooses to wear. With its featured criss-cross waist, the dress was able to flatter the gorgeous body of Lady O. It could have been helpful it was darker around the middle part because it will give the illusion of a curvaceous waist. This is not to say that Michelle needs improvement on this area. Even we’re insecure to admit, our first lady has got that naturally hot and sexy body! The additional function of this dress is to emphasize her great asset: a gorgeous body.  The perfect blending of black and red has highlighted her stature which makes her more elegant and striking.

Lady Obama Meets Another Fashion Icon Carla Sarkozy

Lady O chose designers like Jason Wu, Isabel Toledo, and Thakoon Panichgul. Their creations reflect the fashion preference of the first lady and reveal her personality. She wore a popular brand like J Crew which is almost synonymous to US brands like Marks & Spencer. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy will never be outmoded with her M&S pearls and twinset.

Who would forget the clash of two pilitical fashion icons as the preseidents from US and France meet face to face in NATO summit? First Lady O wore a black floral pink coat with a collar that is loosely tied around the neck. It was lovely and charming. It was complemented with leathered black heels to balance the appearance of glamour and charm. The french first lady Carla Sarkozy has gone for a cropped-sleeve coat in grey. This is her fave color, that’s why she wore it a lot.

We don’t want to compare. Both of them are outstandingly gorgeous on their wardrobe. However, Michelle O knows how to surpise people with her fashion based on her own instinct. Michelle Obama fashion reflects her desire to look gorgeous and beautiful, exploring different styles without compromising her fashion taste. On the other hand, Carla sounds like a monotonous fashion icon, sticking only to her favorite color. We want to see her on a brand new and refreshed fashion statement that she truly owns.

In the afternoon, Michelle O took off her jacket. Ooops, it looks like this but it is just reversed. She looks great on her slash neck and slinky yet flattering cut. Surely Carla will never be left out. She removed her coat finally and we will never be disappointed in our expectation to see a glamorous and beautiful woman in her.

Being fashionable need not be a competition. What matters is that your individuality stands out. The two political figures have different tastes and they exude different fashion statements.
